Terms of Trade, Terms & Conditions, Privacy and Legal Notices
This page sets out the Terms of Trade, Terms and Conditions of Business, Legal Notices, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy for Meet The Meats Wholesale Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These terms apply to all website use and all wholesale supply transactions. By placing orders or using our website, you agree to these terms.
1. Business Scope
Meet The Meats Wholesale Ltd operates as a wholesale supplier of meat and meat products to trade customers including retailers, butchers, caterers, and hospitality operators across East Anglia. We supply business customers only and do not operate as a consumer retailer.
All goods are supplied subject to availability and acceptance of order.
2. Definitions
Customer means any business purchasing goods from us.
Goods means meat and meat products supplied on a wholesale basis.
Order means any request for goods placed by a Customer.
Contract means the accepted order agreement between the Company and the Customer.
Website means any online presence operated by the Company.
3. Orders and Acceptance
Orders may be placed by approved trade customers through agreed ordering channels. An order is only binding once accepted by the Company. We reserve the right to refuse or limit orders at our discretion, including where supply constraints or compliance concerns arise.
Product availability may vary due to supply chain and seasonal factors.
4. Trade Customers Only
By ordering, Customers confirm they are purchasing in the course of business. The Company does not sell on a consumer basis. Consumer protection regulations relating to retail sales do not apply to wholesale trade transactions.
Customers are responsible for ensuring goods ordered are suitable for their intended commercial use.
5. Pricing and Payment Terms
Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. Prices may change due to market conditions, supplier pricing, or availability.
Payment terms will be stated on invoice or account agreement. We may require:
- Payment on delivery
- Advance payment
- Approved credit terms
Late payments may result in supply suspension and statutory interest charges where applicable.
6. Delivery and Risk
Delivery schedules are agreed as part of the trade supply arrangement but are not guaranteed time commitments. Risk in goods passes to the Customer on delivery or collection.
Customers must ensure appropriate chilled or frozen storage is available at receipt. Responsibility for correct storage transfers immediately upon delivery acceptance.
7. Product Handling and Storage
Wholesale meat products require correct temperature control and handling. Customers are responsible for maintaining compliant storage, hygiene, and food safety standards after delivery.
We are not liable for quality issues arising from improper storage, handling, or stock rotation after delivery.
8. Inspection and Claims
Customers must inspect goods at delivery. Any shortages or visible issues must be reported promptly and noted at receipt. Quality concerns must be reported within a reasonable time and supported with batch and delivery details.
Due to the perishable nature of goods, delayed claims may not be accepted.
9. Returns and Perishables
Because goods are perishable, returns are generally not accepted unless there is verified fault or supply error. Any authorised return or credit is at the Company’s discretion following review.
10. Compliance and Food Regulations
Customers are responsible for complying with all applicable food safety, hygiene, traceability, and resale regulations. We aim to work with compliant supply sources and maintain appropriate traceability records within our supply chain scope.
Regulatory compliance at point of resale or service remains the Customer’s responsibility.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss
- Loss of profit or business
- Customer resale losses
- Spoilage after accepted delivery
Direct liability relating to any supply shall not exceed the invoice value of the goods concerned. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
